The Truth Will Out

Splendid news that the government and the EU are to publish papers identifying and setting out the full impact of a No Deal Brexit. At long last we shall have laid out before the public the full implications of crashing out without an agreement  and at last the impossibility of any government, let alone Parliament, calling down such chaos on us will become clear. It was to avoid this distressing degree of transparency that some Brexitiers would prefer first to get out of the EU on something like the fudged Chequers agreement and then set about cutting free from Brussels.

But the fact remains that if we enter transitional arrangement without agreeing a fully detailed future arrangement which is ready for implementation, we will stay there indefinitely because, even if minded, Brussels will not be able to persuade the members of the EU to commit an act of gratuitous self-harm just to suit the Brits.
